KBZ WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY
Welcome to KBZ Communications, Inc. (“KBZ”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Your privacy is important to KBZ and the purpose of this privacy policy is to make you aware of what personal data KBZ collects about you through your use of the KBZ website (“KBZ Site”) and for what uses or purposes KBZ does so.
You understand if you are using the KBZ Site in connection with your employment, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy on your own behalf as well as on behalf of your employer. In such an instance, all references in this Privacy Policy to “you” and “your” shall mean both you personally and your employer. By using the KBZ Site and/or purchasing KBZ goods and services through the KBZ Site, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Please read the Privacy Policy (and Terms of Use available here) carefully, including, but not limited to, any and all hyperlinks contained in this Privacy Policy, and save them. If you do not agree with them, you should leave the KBZ Site immediately.
PRIVATE AND NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION KBZ COLLECTS
When you create a user account on the KBZ Site, as described below, purchase products or services from the KBZ Site or sign up to receive newsletters, mailings or other information from us, we require you to provide or you may provide to us information about you, such as your name and/or your company name, email address, mailing address, phone number, certain financial information, such as credit card numbers, and other personally identifiable information about you (“Private Information”).
KBZ uses analytic tools and other third party technologies, such as Google Analytics, to collect non-personal information in the form of various usage and user metrics when you use the KBZ Site. These tools and technologies collect and analyze certain types of information, including, but not limited to, “cookies”, IP addresses, device and software identifiers, referring and exit URLs, onsite behavior and usage information, feature use metrics and statistics, usage and purchase history and other types of information. USE OF INFORMATION
We use your information, including Private Information, to communicate with you, respond to your requests, send newsletters and updates, send special offers and advertisements, seek your opinion and feedback and to connect you to products, services and our partners. We use your information, including Private Information, behavioral metrics and other non-personally identifiable information, to operate, provide and improve the KBZ Site, to develop new products and services, to prevent abuse and fraud, to personalize and display advertisements and other content for you, and for other administrative and internal business purposes. We also use your information, including Private Information, behavioral metrics, location data, demographic data and marketing preferences to personalize and display advertisements and other content for you.
We may provide Private Information to third parties for their use in performing services on our behalf as well as for purposes such as, but not limited to, complying with court orders and other legal processes, assisting with identity verification, and preventing fraud and identity theft, enforcing our agreements and property rights and obtaining payment for products and services. Additionally, some third party providers may collect information, including Private information, on our behalf. Whenever possible, we require such third-parties to only collect and use Private Information in accordance with this Policy, to maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of such Private information and for no purpose other than providing us with our requested services. KBZ will not sell Private Information to anyone.
The third party analytics companies who collect information on the KBZ Site may combine the information collected with other information they have independently collected from other websites relating to your activities across their network of websites. Many of these companies collect and use this information under their own privacy policies. We may permit certain third party companies to help us tailor advertising that we think may be of interest to you based on your use of the KBZ Site and to otherwise collect and use data about your use of the KBZ Site. PURPOSE OF USER ACCOUNT
Some portions of the KBZ Site are available to you without creating a user account with KBZ. However, other portions of the KBZ Site and the purchase of various KBZ products and services require you to create a user account prior to access or purchase. In order to create a user account, you may need to provide KBZ with Private Information. KBZ needs this Private Information in order to provide you and/or your employer with customized services and to allow you access to stored information which relates specifically to you, your employer, your activity on, including, but not limited to, purchases of KBZ products and services, through the KBZ Site. In addition, creating a user account gives you the opportunity to opt-in to receive products, services and information from third parties.
THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS OF MARKETING INFORMATION
KBZ maintains an opt-in policy for receiving direct mail (both mail and email) promotions and advertising. Third party suppliers of marketing information often provide KBZ with personally identifiable information from consumers who may wish to purchase KBZ products or services. KBZ is not always aware of and does not control the privacy practices of these third party suppliers. As a result, it is possible your name and other personally identifiable information about you may appear on a list KBZ receives from a third party supplier. In such a case, you could receive a direct mail promotion or advertisement from us even if you had not opted-in to receive such direct mail from KBZ when you created your account on the KBZ Site. If at any time you receive a direct mail promotion from us and no longer wish to receive similar promotions in the future, please email us at webmaster@kbz.com.
When you click on links and/or advertising banners that take you to third party websites, you will be subject to the privacy policies of the party operating the site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or actions of any third parties. You should read the privacy policy on any third party website you visit.
COOKIES
We use a technology referred to as “cookies” (small files placed on your hard drive) on certain portions of the KBZ Site. Cookies allow us to track information on the KBZ Site in order to create a personalized web experience, including, but not limited to, content and advertising, assess the effectiveness of advertising and promotion on the KBZ Site and provide a more secure site. We and third party companies, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, optimize and serve ads based on someone’s past visit to the KBZ site. Cookies cannot be used to find your name, your company name, email address, or anything that uniquely identifies you unless you provide such information. For example, you may choose to use a cookie to save your username and password so you do not have to log in to the KBZ Site each time you visit. We recommend you do NOT use this feature if you access the KBZ Site from a multi-user environment. KBZ has no responsibility to you or your employer for establishing your cookies settings or the information collected as a result of these selections.
THIRD PARTY ADVERTISING TECHNOLOGIES
We have implemented and use Google’s service called Display Advertising and the Google Analytics features we have implemented are based on Displayed Advertising (e.g., Google’s Remarketing). Furthermore, in addition to using cookies and related technologies as described above, we may permit certain third party companies, including Google, to help us tailor advertising that we think may be of interest to users and to collect and use other data about use activities on the KBZ Site (e.g., to allow them to tailor ads on third party services). Google and other third party companies may show our ads across the Internet and serve ads based on a user’s prior visit to the KBZ Site. These companies may deliver ads that might also place cookies and otherwise track user behavior in order to provide customized advertisements across various services and products. In the course of providing these services, products or placing advertisements, these third party companies may place or recognize a unique cookie on your computer and may record information to these cookies based upon your activities on the KBZ Site and on third party websites. Each of these companies uses this cookie information according to their own privacy and security policies. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out as indicated in this Policy.
PASSIVE COLLECTION OF DATA
KBZ maintains logs of the usage of the KBZ Site by visitors regardless of whether the user has created a user account on the KBZ Site. We collect this information to develop an understanding of users’ interest in the different portions of the KBZ Site by tracking data, such as the pages visited by users, how many pages visited and length of the visits. KBZ tracks this data in an aggregated form, and the aggregated form does not uniquely identify any individual. KBZ at times shares the aggregated data with third parties and the public.
ACCESSING, CHANGING OR REVIEWING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You may view and change your personal information stored in any online user account you may have with KBZ by signing onto the KBZ Site. We ask that you make any changes promptly to your user account if your Private Information has changed. You may also request we close your user account by emailing KBZ at webmaster@kbz.com.
COPPA COMPLIANCE
If you are under the age of 13 you should not register with us, provide information to us or use or access the KBZ Site. KBZ does not collect Private Information from any person we actually know is a child under the age of 13. If you have knowledge that a child under the age of 13 has submitted Private Information to us, please email us at webmaster@kbz.com.
MODIFICATIONS
KBZ reserves the right to make modifications to the Privacy Policy from time to time and may post a notification of such changes on the KBZ Site.
