F6 software Video enhancements include native resolution (NTSC PAL), wide-screen (16:9) aspect ratio, and HD resolution at 720p. Support of new video resolution under H.264 gives the end-user the optimal video quality for NTSC and PAL video at the most frequently used call rates. And, when an HD video source is connected via the PC DVI-I input, F4 supports HD video at 720p (1280 x 720 = w720p) on the main video stream.
For audio, the GSM interference audio filter virtually eliminates the ring-humming noise caused by GSM cell phones, while the telephone echo suppression removes unwanted echo when dialing analog telephone calls.
The 11 user interface feature enhancements include:
• The ability to enter an international name using Unicode
• Time and date synchronized to a configured
NTP (Network Time Protocol) server appears on the front Welcome Screen (Time and Date Welcome Screen, above)
• Phone book time stamping in Placed Calls, Missed Calls, and Received Calls
• Availability of a simplified “kiosk mode” user interface
• Ability to disable any or all of the icons displayed during an active call
• Input Editor Language can be set Chinese, Japanese and Korean, a llowing end-users to enter native characters into an input field (such as System Name or Phone Book) using the remote control
• The Welcome screen now includes a Services icon, which contains the Chair Control function
• Phone book naming has been changed: Last Number Dialed is now Placed Calls; Missed Calls is now No Change; Call History is now Received Calls
• In order to take advantage of the new resolutions implemented within F4, the Natural Video Auto mode has been modified such that call speeds between 384kbps and 1920kbps invokes the H.264 400p/448p resolutions, while calls above 1920kbps trigger iSIF/iCIF video
• Now supports the Arabic language throughout, raising the total number of MXP-supported languages to 16
• A new optional remote control features five buttons near the top for easy video source selection
The MXP network supports the H.460.18 and H.460.19 standards-based firewall traversal, has enhanced SIP support, can be configured to use IPv6, IPv4, or both at the same time for IP address assignment, and supports full DNS (Domain Name Service) name resolution for all IP service addressing.

Important Notice—
When upgrading to F6.0, the system will install additional firmware that will add approximately 10 seconds to the first boot up procedure after upgrade. It is very important that the power is not interrupted during this upgrade. Because the installation is done very early during system initialization, no display will appear on the screen. This should not be mistaken as system failure – continue to let the system boot up as normal.
