SimphoniX SI-400 Reference Designs
SimphoniX SI-400 Matrix Preset A
This solution is designed for groups or medium size conference rooms. The configuration is design for audio and videoconferencing applications with the ability to record all sides of the conference. Smaller rooms may be accommodated by a direct speaker connection to the internal 20W amplifier. Program sources connected to AUX 1 and 2 playback in the room and may be heard during a teleconference. Local voice reinforcement is available from microphones 1-4 to accommodate presenters
SimphoniX SI-400 Matrix Preset B
The configuration is similar to PRESET A. A third teleconferencing device (typically a sound card for web conferencing) is available at the cost of the record output.
SimphoniX SI-400 Matrix Preset D
The AUX inputs are modified to accept a stereo source (typically a switcher with multiple sources) for playback in custom rooms. Teleconferencing sources remain mono will be mixed and sent to both line level outputs. The speaker output contains the left channel
SimphoniX SI-400 Matrix Preset E
Rooms that require "louder" voice reinforcement or experience great coupling between speakers and microphones benefit from feedback cancellation. The FC101 uses an adaptive algorithm to provide a 10dB stability margin after natural feedback occurs.

Symphonix Auto Mixer

The Simphonix Si-400 is a product designed for the merging worlds of AV, IT and business telephony. It functions as a stand-alone solution, or can be integrated into a larger system. Wideband has deployed a new generation of speech processing algorithms that deliver unmatched performance without the complexity of other systems.

  • Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC): The Si-400 uses the latest generation of AEC with a high tolerance to a variety of conditions. The algorithm eliminates many compromises found in other products by deploying an adaptive non-linear processor that passes speech. AEC operates at 20Hz–20 KHz without a change in frequency response during doubletalk situations.
  • Noise Reduction: Each Mic/Line Input is available with up to 15dB noise reduction less artifacts or compromise to speech. Wideband employs Cell Phone Noise Reduction (CPNR) to reduce unwanted noise from callers in noisy environments.
  • Auto-mixing with Voice Activity Detection (VAD):  Ambient noise compromises performance of automatic mixers. Adjustments to gate thresholds and other settings are required for optimization since most auto-mixers can’t distinguish between speech and noise. Wideband deploys a truly automatic process that uses voice activity detection to prevent noise from gating on a microphone, and to adapt to changing room conditions.
  • Digital, VoIP, Analog Phone Line: The Simphonix line features direct connection to today’s most popular digital and VoIP phones. Analog line connection is also available on the Si-400 and may be used simultaneously. Phone and conferencing ports internally bridge for a variety of applications including phone add to video or web conferences.
  • Cross Point Automatic Gain Control (AGC): The Si-400 software matrix routes audio and AGC at each cross point maintains consistent levels for a variety of conferencing conditions—no need for ongoing level tweaking to accommodate variances between internal, external and bridge phone calls.
  • Web Management: All Simphonix products  feature network connection for remote web-based central management and deployments across a corporate campus or around the world.
  • Voice Reinforcement: Applications that require voice reinforcement usually result in compromised performance during teleconference. The Si-400 permits amplified speech with a mouse click, without compromising the transmit quality.

HD Audio Solutions

WideBand Solutions’ SimphoniX and WebCall conferencing product lines now provide full compatibility with HD voice solutions from Cisco, Nortel, Avaya, snom and ShoreTel. This new generation of telephony has created a demand for High Definition Audio Conferencing, and Wideband responded to the call.

The increased frequency response of the G.722 codec offers users dramatic improvements in speech intelligibility. Speech articulation is determined in the higher frequencies as detailed above.
Traditional phone calls restrict the upper frequencies to 3K, which results in consonants like P, T and V running together. Currently the transmission quality of the PSTN (Publically Switched Telephone Network) is lower than AM radio. HD Audio Conferencing sets a new standard for Enterprise class conferencing.

WideBand has installed demonstration systems in their Plainville facility. Contact your KBZ Rep for more information.
